Burnt down & shattered

Posted in Trigrammaton Qabalah on December 25, 2015 by threefold31

“But your holy place shall be untouched throughout the centuries: though with fire and sword it be burnt down & shattered, yet an invisible house there standeth, and shall stand until the fall of the Great Equinox; when Hrumachis shall arise and the double-wanded one assume my throne and place.”

This prophecy from Liber AL verse 3:34 has now been fulfilled. It is with a heavy heart that I post the news about the blaze that destroyed Boleskine House on Dec. 23.

Let us work backward from this event. This fire occurred with Saturn at 10 degrees 12 minutes of Sagittarius, lasting for at least seven hours and finishing at 10 degrees 14 minutes of Sagittarius. Let us call 10/12 Sagittarius the ‘crisis point’. The last time Saturn was in that position is as follows.

As Saturn entered Sagittarius in 1986, it nearly reached the crisis point, but went retrograde at 9 degrees 42 minutes on March 19, staying stationary for a week surrounding the Equinox of that year. It went direct on August 7, 1986 when it was at 3 degrees Sagittarius, and finally reached 10 degrees 12 minutes of Sagittarius on the afternoon of November 17. Saturn continued direct until March 31, 1987, when it hit 21-Sagittarius-10 and then went retrograde. But it is interesting to note that it ceased retrograde, and went direct again, on August 19, at 14 degrees 32 minutes – AGAIN not touching the crisis point. As astrologers know, any particular degree is usually passed over by Saturn forward, then retrograde, then forward again, but in this instance, Saturn was stationary just shy of being the exact point it held when the fire occurred. So Saturn was only at 10/12 of Sagittarius one time before, and it returned to that degree during the fire.

My personal connection to the house may be of interest to other Thelemites. As I have noted before, I was self-initiated into the 93 Current at Boleskine House on the Winter Solstice of 1986, (using Liber Samekh). At the time, Saturn was at 14 degrees 18 minutes of Sagittarius. I have lately been experiencing the beginnings of the Saturn Return for this event, which will become an exact aspect around February 3, 2016, thus 40 days hence. It will then repeat the exact aspect again during retrograde in May 2016, and finally direct again on Samhain 2016.

So this fire occurred with Saturn about 4 degrees shy of my exact return for my initiation into the 93 Current, and happened 29 years and 1 day after that event. The fire itself occurred on the exact ‘Saturn Return’ from November 17, 1986, and I visited Boleskine five weeks later. But as we all know, an astrological aspect does have a certain ‘orb’ of influence, and in general Saturn Returns wield their influence over a period of a few months. So in essence, this fire coincides with the Saturn cycle from my initiation at Boleskine 29 years ago.

The building has been literally “burnt down and shattered”, but the vortex of the 93 Current still emanates from there, and will do so until the fall of the Aeon of Horus, as prophesied in Liber AL.

The blaze occurred one day after the Winter solstice, and nine months after the message transmitted to me from Horus at the Spring Equinox, which is given in full in the previous entry to this blog. The sign of Sagittarius is the Archer, whose symbol is the arrow. Note that within the message from Horus are these words:

“The flight of the arrow has covered multitudes

It bends, it changes but it never fails of its target.

Now the time is soon to come.

Horus upon the earth to do his will.”

From this we may surmise that the blaze is a sign that Horus has returned to do his will upon the earth. Time will tell what this will mean for Thelemites. The Lord of Force and Fire has re-ignited the current in this, year 111 of the new Aeon.

From the qabalistic standpoint, Crowley spelled the name Boleskine in Hebrew so that it would equal 418, thus nykslvb = 418. This was in reference to Liber AL, which he assumed referred to his home at Boleskine by the words “house 418” in verse 2:78. Using the TEG, we find:

484 = house 418 = with fire and sword it be burnt down & shattered

Heliodromus

The god Horus was invoked during the total solar eclipse of March 20, 2015, using the Supreme Invocation, as employed by Aleister Crowley in Cairo, 1904 to inaugurate the Equinox of the Gods.

At the conclusion of the ritual, the following message was received.

Many are the lights

One is the flame

Two is the wand

Three is thy name

Four are the horses

Five are the stars

Six are the courses for the Chariot to follow

Seven rays of light bestow their glory on men

Eight are the parts of the Law & the Wheel

With nine is none and two invoked

And ten is the triangle of happiness

Eleven is sacred unto Horus and his kin

Twelve are the stars in the firmament

Thirteen the spheres of outward brilliance

Fourteen the steps on the temple sides

Fifteen I give thee as a gift or a curse

Sixteen is reserved for the most Holy

Seventeen is the Star, bending down, flame of blue

And Eighteen is the life that changeth not upon death

19 are the cells in the honeycomb of forgiveness

Spreading their wings forth in the sky

Twenty are the triangles which combine in ecstasy

Twenty One is the heart whose flame reacheth beyond the horizon

Twenty two are the calls of the name without letters

Twenty three is invoked wherever water is dear

Twenty Four holds the secret of the pattern of the beard

and the hairs within it, glistening under the starry light of the gnosis

Twenty Five is the Chariot, full blown exploded

released from the cage and rolling like a juggernaut

And Twenty six is my special star which flasheth through thine inner eye

and penetrateth the darkness of ignorance and despair.

What appeareth black is truly light, and white, and all colors –

absorbed by thine Other, and returned to thee,

through the alchemy of the body & soul

The poison cannot reach thee, the arrow penetrateth not

The flight of the arrow has covered multitudes

It bends, it changes but it never fails of its target.

Now the time is soon to come.

Horus upon the earth to do his will

From the sky he observeth his domain

and plucks his prey according to his will.

All those of courage, of truth & beauty shall fear not

All those we scorn who cower who meekly ask permission

to beg at the gates of the temple,

truly profane they are quarantined.

The luckless shall not enter my house

I bring thee a laurel wreath, and a jade mountain,

a ring of water that courseth like a brook through the glade

In this forest my eyes are plentiful everywhere watching

until nightfall when I become Khephra and the sun disappears

As the moon & her blood cover the sun and his stars

So doth I visit the ultimate places

and determine the fates of men.

All is change, the rolling of the ball, the wheel, the dice

the axle that turneth the whole world.

I am at the apex of this axle and Maat is at the other

This is the wand of double power.

Thou art the Master to wield it.

Bring forth the truth and the crimson eventide of the satisfied.

I am at thy arms and fit the arrow to your bow.

Pull back & release the shaft o warrior-king

I grant thee time & tide

I grant thee life & love

I grant thee light in extension

that thou might banish the darkness I have travelled through

From the mountain ridge I reappear, as all peoples have marked my time.

I bring peace & war, hope & loss, joy with tender sorrow

and iron where once there was brass

Do not forsake the rituals.

The 112 beads are the steps in a ladder of initiation.

Hasten to this call.

Embrace their message of change

& reveal the sphere of the sun in all its glory.

My reign is one of power, splendour, riches and abominations.

There will be terror but my beak shall peck at them

until their corpse is picked clean

Think not that the flower can grow in loam alone

But in sand as well

And the petals of this Hyacinth gleam reddish purple in my light

7 and 11 and 13 are the layers of petals,

and thou may pluck them each in turn or all at once.

This opens the trapdoor of the cavern,

where no torches have passed, no mind has wandered,

no shoe stubbed on the innocent rocks left by my sister

in her endless tears of joy.

So much is hidden but little enough is seen

The broad band of stars they have worshipped

is the home of multitudes waiting for you to contact them

And soon you will.

Of my sister I say that her sweetness is like the dew on the desert floor,

whose cacti suck up this blood of life greedily & joyfully.

So with all that thy do –

the blessings of pleasure the randomness of pain.

These pass as the seasons;

only the wrought iron gates of thy skeleton remain

to mark the spot of the land thou hast conquered

When the third planet is the final link,

I bring within its shadow the essence of mystery,

that all light has its absence.

that all shadow has its dispersal

Each upholds the other and the sphere spins in the eons

now gleaming now hiding now gleaming again

Like a mantra unto the star goddess

From the bosom of Nuit

I travelled until I exploded,

pouring the riches of metals and the power of heat

upon all created things.

Each of them sings my praise, knowingly or not.

And this is the common pantacle of humanity

Its salvation & preservation

Its continuity through the ages

When the last mind has gasped in awe.

Seek not a fortune in a heap of trash

find not a diamond in the alleyway

Where there is truth there is peace

Where there is beauty there is harmony

Where there is love there is joy

All else is a curse

And this you know well.

I will leave with these words

O Lamotkhu

penetrator of Avalon

perpetrator of courage and cowardice

The ring is reserved for those who are true

The desert is but the waiting room of the oasis.

Therein is the well that floweth

ever from the depths of the one source

inexhaustible and holy and ever ready to quench thy thirst

Touché

These are the words of Horus as given to L.E.O.

during the solar eclipse of the Equinox

The word of the Season is ‘light’

from the holograph ms:

None, breathed the light faint & faery of the stars and two.

A Myriad Diameter, A Circumference of Pi, and the Glyphs of the Cipher

Posted in Trigrammaton Qabalah on March 18, 2015 by threefold31

Suppose that one has a circle whose diameter is a Myriad of units, or 10,000 units. This would make the Circumference very close to 31416 units.

The number 31,416 is rather unique, in that it is a product of two triangular numbers. 31416 = 136 x 231

136 is the sum of 1 – 16

231 is the sum of 1 – 21

The triangular numbers are also known as the ‘mystic numbers’. As used in the Kabbalah, these would be the mystic numbers of the 16th and 21st paths. The first ten paths are the sefirot, so the 11th path is given to Alef, the first letter. With this scheme, the 16th and 21st paths are attributed to the 6th and 11th letters, i.e. Vav and Kaf. These are the two paths on the Pillar of Mercy, joining Hokmah to Chesed to Netzach. Their sum is 6 + 20 = 26.

This resonates well with the Tetragrammaton, whose sum for IHVH is 26. And we are breaking that sum into the two easiest parts, 20 and 6. So a simple formula would be: the tens and units values of the Tetragrammaton indicate paths on the Tree of Life whose mystic numbers, when multiplied together, create the circumference of a circle with a myriad units for the diameter.

Now if we were to consider the mystic numbers as relating to the ordinal value of the letters, rather than path numbers, then the mystic numbers of the 16th and 21st letters indicate Ayin and Shin, the 16th and 21st Hebrew letters. As is well known, these two letters combine to form the word A’ASh, meaning ‘Creation’. We might then also have a simple formula: the word of Creation has letters whose mystic numbers, when multiplied together, create the circumference of a circle with a myriad units for the diameter.

The same may be done for Greek letters. In this case, the interesting result is that the 16th and 21st Greek letters are Pi and Phi. These are symbols for two of the most important constants in mathematics, including the one symbolized here, where Pi is the ratio of the diameter to the circumference. Again a simple formula: Pi and Phi have ordinal values whose mystic numbers, when multiplied together, create the circumference of a circle with a myriad units for the diameter.

Now this mention of Greek brings us to the term ‘myriad’, which is the greek word for a value of 10,000 units. This number is one of only a few very large numbers to have its own name. The original Greek was Myrias, with Myriades as the feminine plural nominative or vocative form. This latter form is the more interesting:

ΜΥΡΙΑΔΕΣ = Myriades = ‘Ten Thousand’ = 760

ΝΥΙΤ = Nuit = ‘Star Goddess’ = 760

The symbolism here is quite interesting, for Nuit can be equated with the Myriad, or the units of the diameter, while at the same time in the Book of the Law she is called the Circumference of the sphere. This combines the circumference and the diameter as Nuit, with Hadit being the point at the center of that ‘myriad’.

The two numbers that get us this value of Pi increased by 10,000 do not have any common factors:

136 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 17

231 = 3 x 7 x 11

This series of factors may be related to the 28 glyphs of the Cipher in the following way.

4 6 3 8 A B K 2 4 A L G M O R 3 Y

X 24 89 R P S T O V A L

The Cipher has 28 glyphs but 7 of them are repeated, leaving 21 unique glyphs. The glyphs occur in 8 groups of numbers or letters. The glyphs are split into two lines in the holograph ms: 17 glyphs on the top line and 11 glyphs on the bottom. Therefore:

Unique glyphs of the Cipher = 21

Sets of consecutive similar glyphs = 8

Position of the glyphs in the ms = 17 & 11

21 x 8 x 17 x 11 = 31416

The Prime Trigrams of XXVII Aligned with the Cipher of II:76

Posted in Liber AL II:76, Trigrammaton Qabalah with tags , , on January 11, 2015 by threefold31

In the preceding post, the glyphs of the Cipher that are numbers were aligned with nine trigrams in the Liber XXVII sequence, resulting in a set of trigrams whose sum is 93. We now turn the idea around and examine a special subset of the trigrams and how they align with the glyphs of the Cipher. This subset is the prime numbers.

Again the same pairing of the two sets of glyphs:

0 — 4

1 — 6

2 — 3

3 — 8

6 — AB

9 — K

18 — 2

4 — 4

5 — A

7 — L

8 — G

10 — M

11 — O

19 — R

20 — 3

12 — Y

15 — X

21 — 24

24 — 89

13 — R

14 — P

16 — S

22 — T

17 — O

23 — V

25 — A

26 — L

The prime numbered trigrams, including 1 as a prime, align with the following Cipher glyphs:

6 – 3 – 8 – A – L – O – R – R – O – V

Three are numbers and six are letters. Converting the letters by English gematria we have:

6 + 3 + 8 + 5 + 1 + 10 + 14 + 14 + 10 + 22 = 93

Once again we discover the value of the word of the Law in the alignment of Trigrams and the Cipher!

Since the Cipher has a sum of 351, this method, like the previous one, splits the group into two sets that sum to 93 and 258. One interpretation of this has already been explained by use of the Transitional Triads. Now let us look at two more Triads that are revealed by these methods.

In the present instance, a group of prime trigrams, whose sum was 101, aligned with Cipher glyphs whose sum was 93. These two numbers may be used in a Triad:

Hex 101 copy      Hex 093 copy      Hex 088 copy

                        101                        93                         88

The hidden number is 88, and the sum of the Triad is 282. With values in this range. there are numerous options  for creative interpretation. One such Triad might be

101 = Ra-Hoor-Khu

93 = god of War

88 = worship me

282 = knowing the law of the fortress

In the prior instance, the group of Cipher numbers, whose sum was 143, aligned with the prime trigrams whose sum was 93. These two numbers may also be used in a Triad:

Hex 143 copy      Hex 093 copy      Hex 127 copy

                        143                         93                         127

In this instance, among the many options, there is one that resonates well:

143 = The Book of the Law

93 = Concealed

127 = English Alphabet

And the sum of this Triad has only two equivalents in Liber AL, one of which is:

363 = thy comment upon this the Book of the Law

The Cipher of II:76 Aligned with the Trigrams of XXVII

Posted in Liber AL II:76, Trigrammaton Qabalah with tags , , , , on January 10, 2015 by threefold31

The sum of the glyphs in the cipher of AL II:76 is the same as the sum of the 27 trigrams of Liber XXVII, which is 351. The coincidence of these two values beckons as a fingerprint left in the dust, and one surmises that there may be a further correlation between the two sets of glyphs.

The number 351 is represented in ternary by the 13 trigram over the Zero trigram. Indeed, any number which is a multiple of 13, will consist of trigrams which sum to 13. And so it is in this case. The combination of 13 and 0, as two given numbers, is reconciled by the hidden number 26, which is the third member of this Transitional Triad. If one were to examine this in the light of the hebrew Kabbalah, one might say that the trinity consists of Zero = Nothing, 13 = One (Achad); and 26 = YHVH (tetragrammaton). Thus the Unity of Nothingness is in Yahweh. or something to that effect. And by this we understand that YHWH is the literary means by which the conjunction of Nothing and Unity are manifested.

Be that as it may, the Cipher beckons with its glyphs. let us then combine this nothing, or 0, with the 1 of Unity and the 26 of YHVH to give us 27. And we find 27 in the Cipher by considering that in the holograph, the first letters to appear are AB, written as a ligature, as a joining of the first and second letters of the Hebrew/Greek/Roman alphabets. By considering them so conjoined, there are a total of 27 glyphs, and these can be aligned with the 27 trigrams, for they have the same numerical total of 351.

351 is a ‘mystic number’ for it is the sum of sequential numbers. in this case it is the sum of 0-26, of the realm between Nothing and YHWH, and as such it is linked to the 26th path of the Tree of Life, which is linked to the 16th Hebrew letter, (for the paths begin with the 10 sefirot). And the 16th letter is Ayin, whose name means an Eye but which is also cognate with AIN, which means Nothing. And this in turn links the YHVH with Nothingness. Between them lies the Unity of Achad, or 13. Indeed, one might say that what this Unity is actually unifying is the extremities of the Ain and YHVH.

Nevertheless, on to the Cipher.

Suppose we take the sequence of trigrams (here written in decimal form), and line them up with the glyphs of the Cipher. We then have the following arrangement:

0 — 4

1 — 6

2 — 3

3 — 8

6 — AB

9 — K

18 — 2

4 — 4

5 — A

7 — L

8 — G

10 — M

11 — O

19 — R

20 — 3

12 — Y

15 — X

21 — 24

24 — 89

13 — R

14 — P

16 — S

22 — T

17 — O

23 — V

25 — A

26 — L

351 = 351

The first thing to note is that the nine numbers of the Cipher align with the following trigrams:

0 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 18 + 4 + 20 + 21 + 24 = 93

The value of the word of the Law is thus hidden in this sequence. and having found 93, one expects there is a further mystery to reveal.

Upon the next glance, we see that the enigmatic number 89 is lined up with none other than the 24 trigram. And it has been shown at length that 24 is the key number of this Cipher, holding many of its mysteries.

Since the total of the glyphs in either case is 351, then by removing those indicated by the letters, the remaining eighteen trigrams sum to 351 – 93 = 258. This number is curious, as it seems to be of little to no interest. What could it possibly indicate?

258, written in ternary, is the 15 trigram under the 9 trigram. These are the English letters S and T, and their combination may be an indication of the ShT conjunction that Crowley considered as the centerpiece of his LAShTAL formula. In this case the ShT indicates the Tarot keys of XX and XI, thus XXXI or 31, the number equivalent to AL. More importantly, these two trumps symbolize the Stele of Revealing and Babalon astride the Beast. They encapsulate the magical formula of the new Aeon.

One of the equivalents in Greek for 258 is

258 = ΠΑΡΑΓΓΕΛΛΕ – Paraggelle; to command, exhort, transmit a message

In this case, one of the things being commanded is that Thelema is the word of the law, as 258 is linked with 93.

As in the previous post, we many take these two numbers to find a third one hidden between them.

Hex 093 copy        Hex 258 copy        Hex 657 copy

93                          258                          657

By the rules of the Transitional Triad, the number 657 is the third part of the trinity implied by 93 and 258. This result reinforces the former:

657 = ΠΑΡΑΙΝΕΣΙΣ – Parainesis; an exhortation

The idea here is that we are exhorted and counseled and recommended to consider this number 93.

We may also consider this triad in the light of English gematria, for the sum is 93 + 258 + 657 = 1008.

1008 = Thou shalt obtain the order & value of the English Alphabet; thou shalt find new symbols to attribute them unto.

Thus the Cipher glyphs divide the trigrams in such a way as to make a Triad whose sum is equivalent to AL II:55, the verse which is an exhortation to Crowley to obtain an English Qabalah. This has been achieved by building on the work he has left us.

Transitional Triads and the Value of Pi

Posted in Trigrammaton Qabalah with tags , , , on January 1, 2015 by threefold31

The nearest integer approximation to the value of Pi (that doesn’t require very large numbers) is 355 / 113. We have seen how this can be related to certain features of Liber AL, but this pair of numbers is also an excellent example of a methodology unique to the TQ.

The technique of creating a Transitional Triad uses the idea of taking any two numbers, and deriving a third number from them. The technique is simple: all numbers are n-grams, such as hexagrams. When two hexagrams are given, their lines in any position are compared with each other. Where the two lines are the same, they combine to create a third line that is the same. Where the two lines are different, they combine to make the third type of line. In other words, Yang + Yang = Yang, while Yang + Yin = Tao, and so forth.

When the technique is used, it results in a triad of hexagrams, each of which is the ‘transition’ between the other two. They are locked into a triangular arrangement. What is significant for the purposes of qabalah is that any two numbers have one, and only one, number that is the transition between them. There is nothing arbitrary about this, and therefore a number pair can truly be said to contain a hidden, third member.

The following is an example of this method in action. On the left we have the hexagram of 355, while in the middle is hexagram 113. when the lines of these two are compared to each other, they result in the hexagram on the right, which is 597.

Hex 355 copy       Hex 113 copy       Hex 597 copy

        355                         113                          597

The top and bottom lines of these hexagrams go through changes, while the inner four do not; since the lines are the same, they produce the same line when combined. Thus we determine that the hidden number between 355 and 113 is in fact 597. What is interesting here is that this Triad sums to 355 + 113 + 597 = 1065. This is identical to the circumference of a circle whose diameter is 339!

The fact that a Triad sums to a number which is three times the value of one of the members of the Triad is not unusual. But what is unusual is that in this one instance, that value is intimately related to the members and their interaction with Pi, which of course has a value ‘close’ to 3, but is certain not exactly three. Something mysterious is going on here.

If we multiply 113 by 3, we get 339, the diameter of a circle whose circumference is 1065.

If we multiply 355 by 3, we get 1065, the circumference of a circle whose diameter is 339.

Somehow, the number 597 provides the missing information that completes the interaction of these numbers in terms of a circle and its measurements. It is perhaps no surprise then that 597 is the value of the word for Beast, as found in Revelation chapter 13.

355 = ΕΠΟΣ = Epos = Prophecy

113 = ΕΙΠΕΙ = Eipei = Shall Say

597 = ΘΗΡΙΟΥ = Theriou = Beast

The first two words are based on the same root; both deal with a saying and that which is said. In this case it is a prophecy that will be said. And the Transitional Triad method shows that it is the Beast who will be saying this prophecy.

But to return to the number 339, the value of KLEIDOS, meaning Key, we can incorporate this very easily into a Transitional Triad. Essentially, in base 3 counting, one can multiply a number by 3 simply by adding a 0 at the end of it. (This is true in any base – to multiply by the base itself, we add a zero at the end, so that in base 10, if we multiply by 10 we simply make 15 into 150, etc.)

In effect, we can triple the size of the Transitional Triad by adding a line of Tao, indicating zeroes, at the bottom of the figures given above. Their values will increase to 1065 – 339 – 1791. I do not have graphics to show this, but the point should be clear. What is revealed when this is done is something truly extraordinary; the hidden number between our diameter of 339 and the circumference of 1065 is 1791:

1791 = ΕΡΜΗΣ ΤΡΙΣΜΕΓΙΣΤΟΣ = Hermes Trismegistos = Thrice-greatest Hermes

By tripling the essential ratio of 355 / 113, we get a triad of numbers that includes reference to Hermes the ‘thrice-great’.

The ‘Circle Squared’ with Greek Isopsephy, part 2

Posted in Trigrammaton Qabalah with tags , , , , , on January 1, 2015 by threefold31

In part 1 it was shown that the Greek word for Key – KLEIS, and its isopsephy value of 265, provides a very accurate integer approximation of Pi, if it is used as the value for the radius of a circle. Then the ratio is 1665/265, or 333/106. The only other small integer approximation is 355/113. As it turns out, a similar result can be accomplished with this ratio as well, using another Greek word for ‘Key’, which is Kleidos.

ΚΛΕΙΔΟΣ = 339

339 x Pi = 1064.9999

1065 / Pi = 339.00002

1065/339 = 3.1415929

This is Pi accurate to six decimal places. We might then take 339 as the value of the radius or diameter of a circle. In this instance, the diameter will be much more revealing. With the clue given by the Greek word Kleidos, let us then switch to English equivalents:

339 = the order & value of the English Alphabet.

1065 = Change not as much as the style of a letter; for behold! thou, o prophet, shalt not behold all these mysteries hidden therein.

Here is shown clearly how a Key to the book is revealed. That Key is the core concept of ‘the order & value of the English alphabet’ which allows us to decipher the Book of the Law by English gematria. In conjunction with that is the first exhortation by Aiwass about changing the Book: the entirety of verse I:54 is equivalent to the circumference of a circle whose diameter is 339. So in essence, the circumference represents the parameters of ‘editing’ the Book, and the diameter is the way to bridge this circle, the means of tying it together.

The number 339 is more than simply the gematria value of a Greek word for Key; it also appears independently in Liber XXXI, the holograph ms of Liber AL. On the infamous ‘grid-page’, where the three keys are described, there is a total of 339 glyphs. There are 334 letters on this page, plus an ampersand, making 335 glyphs in the verse proper. There is also a “line drawn”, a “circle squared” glyph, and two numerals for a page-number. This makes 339 total glyphs on the sheet. What do all these glyphs amount to?

The TEG value of the entire page is 3469.

3469 = the 487th prime number

487 = Thou shalt obtain the order & value of the English Alphabet.

487 = the 93rd prime number

93 = ΘΕΛΗΜΑ

In two steps, we are guided from a seemingly meaningless gematria result, to the sentence commanding a new English gematria be found, which in turn points toward the ‘word of the law’. This is how the overall grid-page provides a Key to deciphering the Book of the Law. But the numbers 339 and 1065 are also interesting in the larger scheme of Trigrammaton Qabalah. Below are images of there hexagrams that are structurally related. On the left is 339, in the center is its Antigram 669, on the right is its Reversed Antigram 143:

 Hex 339 copy          Hex 669 copy         Hex 143 copy

                 339                            669                           143

Not only is 339 the Reversed Antigram of 143, which is the sum of the numbers in the Cipher, it is also the Antigram of 669, which is the sum of the Cipher and all the numerals on the holograph ms page that contains the Cipher!

Cipher = 351

Page number = 20

Verse numbers = 73 + 74 + 75 + 76 = 298

total = 351 + 20 + 298 = 669

Meanwhile, 1065 has its own interesting status in the TQ. It is one of the few numbers that are the sum of two Antigrams. Only two such numbers appear as the TEG value of a verse in Liber CCXX. In this case, the first instance has already been shown above, but what is important here is that this verse can actually be split into two parts which equal the two Antigrams that make up the total, thus:

359 = Change not as much as the style of a letter

706 = for behold! thou, o prophet, shalt not behold all these mysteries hidden therein.

This is the only instance in Liber CCXX where a verse can be split in this way, and it occurs in the verse demanding that the text remain inviolate, while simultaneously being the circumference of a circle whose diameter is 339. This is not a coincidence.

Hex 359 copy           Hex 706 copy

        359                             706

There are several pairs of Antigrams that will sum to the same number. The smallest values for these pairs is termed the ‘root pair’, because one of the hexagrams has only Tao and Yang lines, and the other is double the value, with only Tao and Yin lines. In the case of 1065, the root pair is 355 and 710. This would not be significant, except for the fact that 355 is one of the two integers that gives us this amazingly accurate value of Pi — 355/113.

Hex 355 copy             Hex 710 copy

        355                               710

To return to the Greek, the value of 355 is equal to a word that means…word

355 = ΕΠΟΣ = Epos, a word, a prophecy or an oracle (i.e., the word of a deity)

The ‘Circle Squared’ with the Great Pyramid and N.O.X.

Posted in Trigrammaton Qabalah with tags , , on December 25, 2014 by threefold31

It has been established that the height of the Great Pyramid at Gizeh is in proportion to its base perimeter, as the radius of a  circle is to its circumference. Suppose we then consider the ‘circle squared’ glyph to be a circle whose circumference is equal to the perimeter of the G. P., i.e., 1760.

With 1760 as the circumference, the radius will be 280.112 units in length. Drawing an ‘X’ inside this circle will result in the length of four radii, or 1120.45 as the total length of the ‘X’. But once the X is inside the circle, we also have created the sigil for N.O.X. as shown in Crowley’s annotation of the infamous Windram copy of Thelema. Note the raised ink where he has gone over the shape of the letter ‘N’ a second time.

N.O.X. Windram

The sigil is composed of three separate letters, and given the dimensions already established, their lengths are equal to:

N = 440 + 560.224 + 440  = 1440.224

O = 1760

X = 1120.45

The total of the three letters is therefore 4320.674

consider that the letter N partakes of half of the circle of O, thus 1760/2 = 880 units for the outer legs of the N, and the diameter of the O, which is 560, for the central leg. This will allow us to split the O in half below:

N = 1440.224 – rounding up to 1441

1441 = ΑΠΟΚΡΥΦΟΣ = Apocryphos = Hidden

O = 1760 = 880 x 2

880 = ΑΡΠΟΚΡΑΤΗΣ = Harpokrates – (Lord of Silence)

880 = Ο ΠΑΡΑΚΛΗΤΟΣ = The Paraclete (The Holy Spirit)

X = 1120.45 – rounding up to 1121

1121 = ΚΑΤΩ = Kato – (Below, lower, downwards)

Using the equivalents above, the sigil of N.O.X. signifies

Harpokrates The Holy Spirit Hidden Below

The ‘Circle Squared’ with Greek Isopsephy, part 1

Posted in Trigrammaton Qabalah with tags , , , , on December 9, 2014 by threefold31

The problem of squaring the circle is one of the legacies of ancient Greek geometry, so approaching it via the Greek qabalah may prove fruitful. Three keys are mentioned in verse III:47, and are supposed to relate to the ‘key of it all’, indicating that these three help unravel the whole text of Liber AL and its message.

First of all we have: “Then this line drawn is a key”.

The eleven Roman letters touched by the line in the holograph, transliterated into Greek letters:

ST = 6

B = 2

E = 5

T = 300

I = 10

S = 200

A = 1

Y = 400

F = 6 A = 1

Total = 931

931 = O AIWN = The Aeon

It should be obvious how the Aeon is a key to the message of Liber Legis. Not only did the new Aeon of Horus begin with the Cairo Working, but the Tarot trump of the Aeoon is a depiction of the great talisman of that working, the Stele of Revealing

The next key is announced thus: “Then this circle squared in its failure is a key also.”

Taking the sentence literally, the word ‘Key’ itself, translated into Greek is KLEIS = 265

We will make this the value of the radius of a circle. We can try to ‘square the circle’, and make a square with an equal area, but we will fail. This failure will give us a result in-between two integers. A circle with radius 265 has an area of 220,618.344. Taking the square root of this, we have the length of the side of this ‘circle squared’ = 469.700

469 = NUITh 470 = OU = Not

We are somewhere between Nuit and Negation, or Nothing.

Here is where we tie the keys together. We simply add the two answers and the Greek word for Key to get:

this line drawn = 931

this circle squared = 469

a Key = 265

Total = 1665.

Now consider that 265 is the radius of the circle we tried to ‘square’. There is one other important measurement of this circle, i.e., the circumference. We thus have 2 x 265 x Pi = 1665.044 This is the same integer as above!

Thus the circumference of our circle based on the word KLEIS, or Key, is equal to the three keys above.

Examining this more closely, we have1665 = 3 x 555 555 = OUK EIMI = I Am Not

So the circle is saying ‘I Am Not’ three times over, and trying to square it provides Nuith or Not; and of course “Nothing is a secret key of this Law.”

Let’s not forget the diameter of this circle, which is 530 530 = OU DEMIA = No one, none

If the circumference were exactly 1665, and we divide by exactly 530, we have 3.14150, which is Pi accurate to four decimal places. So this ‘key’ of 265 has provided us with a very good integer approximation of Pi, which is 1665/530, equivalent to 333/106. This is in fact the next consecutive integer approximation, or ‘convergent, after the very famous 22/7. The only other small integer approximation that is better is 355/113. After that, the numbers get quite unwieldy.

So in a nutshell, the Greek word for Key happens to have a gematria value that resonates with an integer approximation of Pi, which is the one element that insures that trying to square the circle will end in failure. If this ‘circle squared’ indeed refers to the classical problem of Greek geometry, then the Greek word for Key helps to unravel it, and provides meaningful words and phrases that further elucidate the meaning of the Law.

Now for the third Key mentioned in AL III:47 “And Abrahadabra”

Spelling Abrahadabra in Greek instead of the usual Hebrew gives us 221. 221 = SIGH = Silence.

Now spell those 11 Greek letters of ABRAHADABRA ‘in full’ by using their letter-names. The total is 5731, whose prime, and only factors are 11 x 521. Simply add these two factors to get 11 + 521 = 532 532 = ALPhA – the letter name of alpha. Of course, there are 5 Alpha’s in the word Abrahadabra, and as Crowley made very explicit, these represent the pentagram, which in turn is the Five Pointed Star, which in turn is the star of Nuit, which has a….circle…in the middle.

Liber AL I:46 and the Great Pyramid

Posted in Trigrammaton Qabalah with tags , , on October 17, 2014 by threefold31

Let us begin with the thinnest of references to the Cipher numbers, and then veer into territory related more closely to the mathematical mysteries propounded in Liber AL I:46, as they relate to the Great Pyramid of Gizeh.

It is well established that, as near as can be measured with modern equipment, and the state of the stones, the Great Pyramid has a base length of 440 Egyptian royal cubits. Now there is variance among the length of the cubit, and this is still debated by scholars, but we will say that regardless of the variances, the length of 440 cubits, (approx. 9069 modern inches), represent .143 of a mile.

One mile is 5280 feet = 63360 inches. Multiplied by exactly .143 gives us 9060.48 inches, just a few inches shy of the base length of the pyramid. The critic may scoff and say that the Egyptians did not know of the modern mile, and to this I assent. It does not, however, remove the coincidence with 143.

That notwithstanding, the 143 reference is not the main thrust of this post. We will stick to the original length of the cubit for our survey.

The base length of each side of the pyramid is 440 cubits and this piques our interest because it is double the value of 220, the number of the Book of the Law. The apothem of each side, i.e., the length from the midpoint of the side to the apex, is 356.09 cubits. Simple application of the Pythagorean theorem will show that the ridge of the pyramid, from the corner to the apex, (as confirmed by measurement, and extrapolation to the missing apex) is 418.56. We may round this number down to one of the most significant numbers in Thelemic qabalah – 418.

At this point one could merely smile and take comfort in this lovely coincidence, but there is an arcanum revealed here. It may be true to say that the ridge length is simply a by-product of the architectural requirement that there be 440 cubits for the base and 280 cubits for the height, with a slant of 51-plus degrees for each side toward the apex. That coincidence will still not change the arcanum that is revealed.

When looking at the Great Pyramid, there are eight lines that are significant – the four lines of the base – each at 440 cubits in length; and the four lines of the ridges – each at 418 + cubits in length. The total length of these eight dimensions is (440 x 4) + (418 x 4) = 1760 + 1672 = 3432.

If one were to consider just one ridge, and the two bases that meet at the foot of that ridge, the lengths would be 880 cubits for the two sides, and 418 for the ridge. This immediately brings to mind Liber AL I:46 —

46. Nothing is a secret key of this law. Sixty-one the Jews call it; I call it eight, eighty, four hundred & eighteen.

If we remove the comma after the word ‘eight’, we could read this as “eight eighty, four hundred & eighteen”, meaning 880, 418. The fact that this is the actual dimension of the Khufu pyramid in royal cubits can hardly be a coincidence.

But 880 and 418 refer to only three of the eight conspicuous lengths of the pyramid, and this leaves us with a mystery. Are we simply to ignore the rest? Hardly. But first, imagine that you are looking at the pyramid head-on from one of the corners. You will see two adjacent triangles, whose congruent side is one ridge, and whose four other sides consist of two ridges and two bases. the length of these five lines that can be seen at one time total 418 + 440 + 418 + 440 + 418 = 2134. This number is not particularly significant, but it is within 1 of a highly significant result, which counts as a match by using the method of colel:

2133 = XYLON THS ZOHS = Tree of Life

This result resonates with the verse, because Nuit goes on to say:

47. But they have the half: unite by thine art so that all disappear.

The ‘half’ that the Jews have is obviously the AIN, or naught, which resides outside of the realm of the Tree of Life, and is the counterpart to it, in the Hebrew Kabbalah. Uniting the AIN and the Tree is also ‘Thelemic’ in the sense that AIN = 61 and there are 32 Paths on the Tree. 61 + 32 = 93.

The gematria of the ‘Tree of Life’ result comes from looking at five visible lines of the pyramid. That leaves three lines hidden, which themselves are 440 + 440 + 418 cubits in length = 880, 418. Now since Nuit implies that what she calls nothing is equivalent to what the Jews call it (AIN), then these three hidden lines, (not visible when looking from one corner of the pyramid), represent that AIN. The remaining five lines represent the Tree.

But there is an even greater arcanum hidden in the pyramid. For if we simply divide the 8 lines of measure into two halves, we have 440 + 440 + 418 + 418 = 1716 = one half of the lines, and of course 1716 for the other four lines as well. We have met this number before on our travels through the Book of Revelation:

1716 = ThRONON TOU ThERIOU = Throne of the Beast

One may say that this is an apt title for the Great Pyramid, acting as a sort of throne for the Sphinx, who is a lion with the head of a pharaoh. But there is merely a tantalizing signifier, for the further secret is that the sum of the lengths of the four bases and four ridges of the Great Pyramid, in royal cubits, rounds down to 3432. All we need do is multiply this by another significant number to reach once again the Holy Book:

3432 x 78 = 267,696 = gematria of Liber CCXX

Here we find encoded in plain sight a factor of the grand total of the Book of the Law, a book whose deities are Egyptian, and which refers to an indisputable outside source to corroborate the enigmas hidden therein. An American might base a code on the Declaration of Independence; a Briton might do so with the Magna Carta. The Egyptian gods did so with the Great Pyramid of Khufu at Gizeh.
